Understanding Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Navigating the Pain

Carpal tunnel syndrome arises when pressure on the median nerve leads to pain, numbness, and weakness in the hand and fingers. It is a type of nerve injury. As a dual-degree engineer with degrees from Duke University and a medical degree from Johns Hopkins, Dr. Prucz’s understanding of the human body enables him to address this condition with precision.

Precision Diagnosis: Guiding Treatment

Accurate diagnosis is the key to effective treatment. Dr. Prucz employs meticulous assessments to determine the severity of carpal tunnel syndrome and to rule out other potential causes. This ensures that your treatment plan is tailored to your specific needs.

Carpal Tunnel Release: Easing the Strain

Carpal tunnel release is a procedure designed to alleviate the pressure on the median nerve. Dr. Prucz’s surgical technique allows him to perform this procedure with minimal invasiveness, promoting a quicker recovery and reduced postoperative discomfort. Dr. Prucz offers both open and endoscopic surgical techniques depending on your individual needs and preferences. Open surgery involves making an incision to access the compressed nerve while endoscopic surgery uses a small camera and tools to make smaller incisions and minimize scarring.
